The Newbuildings Cricket Club Under 15 Squad attended their first all-Ireland semi-final match in in the All Ireland T20, aided by a £250 donation from Z Property Development.
Following an unbeaten season, the team of talented Newbuildings youths travelled to Ireland’s oldest Cricket Club, Phoenix Cricket Club in Dublin, accompanied by coaches and supporters.
Travel and other expenses were part-funded by a £250 donation from Z Property Development. The donation was motivated by Z Property’s community investment ethos, as the company are building their first residential development, Stoney Manor, in Newbuildings town.
Following travel by coach from their hometown, Newbuildings players faced Belfast’s CSNI (Civil Service Northern Ireland) Cricket Club, with the opposing team batting first. After a well-played match, Newbuildings U15s closed on 142-8 from 20 overs short by 28 runs, conceding the match to CSNI.
The team’s coaches congratulated their players on “an unbelievable effort from the lads against a fantastic CSNI side – tremendous character shown by the lads.”
Supporters shared their delight at being able to support the players in person for their “amazing achievement to get so far”, putting “Newbuildings on the map for all the right reasons.”
The match concludes the team’s season. Z Property Development were pleased to contribute to the team’s big day and will continue their goal to enrich the communities they build in, not only with first class houses and hiring locally but by supporting community organisations and causes to enrich the lives of residents both old and new.
